Blood Pressure Meds

I hope to see a protocol for the supplanting of pharmaceutical drugs used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure) with herbal hypotensives. There are many herbs that lower blood pressure as a side effect next to the studied performance-enhancing qualities of their doses. So an herbal treatment of hypertension could have many desirable side effects (the pharmaceutical drugs have undesirable side effects).

Healthy herbs with a hypotensive effect include (according to Medical Herbalism and Adaptogens): jiaogulan, reishi, rhaponticum, hawthorn, motherwort, grape seed extract and bacopa. The authors of Adaptogens suggest that eleuthero may help with stress-induced hypertension.
