Narrow Interpretations

Although one can say that words are just symbols, they tend to be conceptualized and incorporated into conceptual frameworks. Some include an exclusion of some signified (concepts) in the conceptualization of their signifiers (words that refer to concepts) - when such exclusion is unreasonable, their conceptualization of that word is a narrow interpretation.

This is problematic because it is a denial of meaningful subjectivities. When one denies subjectivities, they are incapable of engaging with them. It is also germane to the monopolization of a people by a belief system - could you imagine if a Rabbi said that only followers of their sect are Jews: they would be criticized by all who know the Halacha.
